Who this is

paintbucket is a one-person game studio run by Richard Folea. These terms cover paintbucket.dev, every game hosted on its subdomains, and GeoPinQuest on Steam, the App Store and Google Play. Using any of them means you accept these terms. If you do not, the remedy is simply not to use them.

The browser games

The games on paintbucket.dev are free to play, for as long as they remain up. You do not need an account and you are not asked for anything. You may play them, link to them, record them, stream them and put that footage wherever you like, monetised or not, without asking permission.

What you may not do:

• rehost or redistribute a game as though it were yours, or sell access to it
• strip the branding, or present the work as someone else’s
• use them to break the law, or to attack the site or the people playing on it

The games, their code, their art and their music remain the property of paintbucket, except where third-party assets are used under their own licences.

GeoPinQuest

GeoPinQuest is sold, not given. Buying it grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play it on the devices the store allows. It does not transfer ownership of the game itself.

Refunds

We cannot process refunds, because we never take the payment. Purchases are handled entirely by Valve, Apple or Google, and a refund has to be requested from whichever one you bought it from, under their policies — Steam refunds, Apple’s report a problem or Google Play refunds. If something is genuinely broken, write in anyway: knowing about it is worth more to us than the sale.

Things bought inside the game

GeoPinQuest sells things inside itself as well as being sold. Those purchases go through the same store you installed it from and are charged to the account you are already signed in to, so the refund route above is the refund route for them too.

What you buy is a licence to use that content inside the game, on the same terms as the game itself. It has no value outside the game, it cannot be transferred, exchanged or cashed out, and if the game is eventually taken down it goes with it. Anything bought is tied to the store account that bought it, not to you, so it does not follow you from one storefront to another.

Advertising

GeoPinQuest shows advertising. What that involves, and how to limit it, is set out in the privacy policy.

Age

These games are not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age at which you can agree to terms like these where you live, you need a parent or guardian to agree on your behalf.

Things breaking, and things going away

The games are provided as they are. They are made by one person, they are not guaranteed to be free of bugs, and no promise is made that any of them will keep working on your particular browser, device or operating system.

Nothing here is promised to stay up forever. A browser game may be taken down, moved, rewritten or replaced without notice. Because saves are held in your own browser rather than on a server, clearing your browser data or switching device loses that progress permanently, and there is no backup we can restore from.

To the fullest extent the law allows, paintbucket is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using these games — lost data, lost time, lost progress. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

Changes

These terms may change. When they do, the date at the top of the page changes with them, and continuing to use the games means accepting the version then published.
